TOP OF THE DAY

15 August 2006

went to those seventh month "feast" just know. they called it por tor hahaha which i dont know what it meant. lol its those as you eat, got some uncles at the background holding an auction, trying to distract you eating your food. but do they know something? the food sucked. haha bugdet 9-course meal.

but its quite interesting to see people auction things like bicycle, rice cooker, microwave oven, t.v, hi-fi set, laterns, plants, toy car, huat kuay, vermicelli ( is it how you spell it?) martell, fans, 4-d toto tickets, gold chain, radio, rice bucket, mahjong set, dvd players and such.. too many to remember.

do you still think this kind of thing will carry on into the next generation? maybe.. but difficult.. hahaha maybe some variations to the goods sold? like...

instead of normal CRT tv, auction plasma instead.

instead of mahjong, they can auction 明星三缺一

instead of dvd player you can auction ibook.

instead of martell, you can auction absolut ice

instead of auctioning 4D/toto tickets, you can auction strike! let the people auction it till like about 150 dollars, only to find out that you bought 5 dollar on charlton to win EPL when they anxiously opened the red packet . hahaha!

isnt all this much more appealing? then we will hold the function inside an air-conditioned room, with pretty heineken babes pooring us beer, instead of aunties with the tiger/abs orh gao. so who say traditions are boring?! lol
