TOP OF THE DAY

18 May 2006

received the bomb from thia the previous day...

KENSINGTON'S MANAGEMENT HAD BANNED SOCCER WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

oh no. i donoe where to start. i dint know kensington football had been so deeply embedded into me until this sense of losing knocked reality into my mind.

still remember tt day vividly. 4 years ago, after literature paper ( if i am not wrong ) i was asked to play soccer at some ulu place at serangoon. so i just followed yenhao there.

i dint know many people over there at the time, except for justin. and as expected i was the last to be selected and was asked to be a goalie. and boy, how i shone at the position. i was quickly aknowledged and became accquaintence with follow soccer lovers.

every friday would be kensington days. rain or shine. the squad simply grew bigger and better.

this ground had witnessed us growing up ( except darren ). shouting, celebration, blood, sweat and tears ( ok its me ) had formed part of the ground. i think not many non-residents, had been playing so consistently over there. the atmosphere there is simply crazily-soccery.....

this ground held many of us together. it caused the the A,B,C class to be bonded so well. i can safely say that almost all who play soccer in these classes and beyond, had been to kensington. point it to me if i am wrong. i reckon it gonna take me ages to name all the names who have been there. the passion for soccer is there for all of us to see. amazing. kensington had became another word for soccer in the thesaraus for us since.

people come and go, but the main spine of kensington fc have been there. whether there is 3, 8 , 14 or 20 players, kensington time IS good, enjoyable, fun-filled, satisfying and fufilling time. no one will be left behind here. everyone is brother, no grudges would be beared if someone made a mistake or hurt someone else. because we do all in the name of football and of the court.

bowling, pool, snooker, and basketball have been living in the shadow of SOCCER. and where is the best place to carry out all this?? guess we dont have to spell it out.

this is the very ground.

and now we are asked or rather, stopped, from playing soccer. i dont know who caused this, maybe we are the ones. but everyone is just here to have fun, and we would be very sorry if we had caused incovience to the residents, we have to respect that it is still, afterall a private housing estate. but our intentions weren't to disturb or do any monkey stunts, it is pure and simple, that is to play soccer in an enviroment that we are all too familiar with.

this is one hard pill to swallow, we will miss all the mari kita, pl, urinating at the tree, drinking water from the tap, bathing in the clubhouse. ok i know we still can go there, but just to drink water and bathe very funny right hahah..

nevertheless, the spirit of kensington shall never die! the regrets i have is not being able to play the last game and we hadn't taken enough pictures at the ground. but i am sure we will cherish all the memories we have had in the past.

p/s : sorry for being too emo, but i am sure someone will echo my views (: i got so much to say but i donoe how to express it.
